It all started 26 years ago.

In 1993 we walked away from a career in Sales. Betsy and I were on Mission.

The goal was to change lives. To make a difference.

With no number of children served in mind, the goal was to model the love of Christ in a genuine way through play.  The goal was to create quiet places where we could hear again. The goal was to reach out by reaching in and find our heart again. The goal was to be a ministry that dreams, loves and spends money with eternity in view. The goal was to fight for the hearts of children. The goal was to offer a safe place for children to play with purpose. The goal was to find courage again.  The goal was to learn to care about people so brilliantly that they see right through us and become curious about what it might be like to know God. The goal was to give a child a chance to see the Love of Christ in a real person, in the form of a counselor or a friend who is walking with them.  The goal was to provide a rich community where mentors are commonplace and Life transformation happens virtually every day!

The goal was to fall in Love with Christ and Give it away!

There is a clear distinction in the work we have endeavored to engage in over the past 26 years. It is our focus on the Heart. We have a firm grip on what it takes to influence children in this culture. We are fully engaged in experiences that will be transformational rather than transactional.  Children are in the middle of a war that is an assault on their value, their ability to experience love and interpret life through a lens of love.  This is true in the world, but it is also true in our world.

Our children in their forming years don’t have the pleasure of simply focusing on the building of faith, development of character and pillars of a solid life.  The issues are escalating – Legal but Lethal drug use, Mass Shootings, Over Sexualization of TV, Music, Movies, and Games, Social Media Chaos,  Anxiety, Economic Uncertainty, Global Unrest, Political Insanity, and the ability to see it all unfold on a devise that they can hold in the palm of their hand.  Our children are growing up in a noisy time where confusion is the norm and moral development is commonly grounded in little more than a web site, blog or social posts from virtual strangers.   How do our children navigate the issues they face in their world and still passionately care about the issues that are unfolding in the rest of the world?

Camp Highland with no number of children served in mind, the goal remains to model the love of Christ in a genuine way through play.  The goal is to create quiet places where we can hear again. The goal is to reach out by reaching in and find our heart again. The goal is to be a ministry that dreams, loves and spends money with eternity in view and remains grounded in the Bible. The goal is to fight for the hearts of children. The goal is to offer a safe place for children to play with purpose. The goal is to find courage again.  The goal is to learn to care about people so brilliantly that they see right through us and build an abiding relationship with God.  The goal is to give a child a chance to see the Love of Christ in a real person in the form of a counselor or a friend who is walking with them and live with compassion, even advocating for people they may never meet. Our goal is to provide a rich community where mentors are commonplace and Life transformation happens virtually every day! The goal is to fall in Love with Christ and Give it away!

Our goals remain the same. While we are attempting to count the things that truly count, our initial dreams for influencing children have been surpassed years ago and our passion is to find a way to grow while still offering opportunities for transformational impact in the lives of everyone that is in our circle. From the children experiencing a blinding hunger to the children buried in blinding affluence, our passion is to carve out a place in the North Georgia Mountains for our team to continue to reach our Goals.  I want to thank you for the work you have enabled and ask each of you, Will you help us continue to build this place?

The goal is to change lives. To Make a Difference for Christ. To fight for the hearts of the next generation!
