A funny thing happens when you start talking about money as a Christian. Most people start to get uncomfortable. However, this shouldn’t be the case if we are examining it through Jesus’s teachings. In fact, he had more to say about money than heaven and hell combined! The only subject Jesus talked about more than money is the Kingdom of God. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that money is critically important, especially for those who call themselves Christians. Our attitude toward money and how we manage it is the foundation that sets the stage for every other aspect of our spiritual lives.
As Christians, we give to many different needs; our church, starving kids in other countries, missionaries, food banks, the building of wells for clean water, natural disaster events, and the list goes on and on. Sometimes it’s hard for us to see other needs that are right here in front of us.
At Camp Highland our vision is to awaken a passion within each person, family, and group that comes to Camp, leaving them focused on pursuing an authentic walk with Christ. We like to think of it as a breeding ground of sorts where young leaders are made, families are strengthened, and hearts are engaged. It’s also a place where people of all ages come and hear the gospel for the first time. Where children are told and shown that they are truly loved by a God who created them for a purpose. It’s a place where some families that seem to have everything perfect according to the world’s standards are challenged that they too are in need of Christ. We believe that Camp Highland is a place of rest for the weary. Where a person can get back on track and walk back into their life with a renewed sense of identity in Christ.
Why giving to Camp is important
We think all of this is important to mention because we understand the importance of a place like Camp. If you’ve been here before then hopefully you too have seen first hand that it’s a place where real impact happens. If this is true for you, then we want to invite you in closer.
Camp Highland is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies on the support of generous donors like you. In order for us to grow at a sustainable and scalable pace, we invite others to walk alongside us. If you are considering making camp part of your 2020 giving strategy, we’ve compiled a list of ways for you to do this. Remember, every amount matters.
